Nippon Koei Co., Ltd, Japan in Joint Venture with Nippon Koei India Pvt. Ltd are the Project Management Consultants for the Community based Forest Management and Livelihood Improvement in Meghalaya Implemented By Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) Government of Meghalaya.
The project objective is to restore and conserve natural resources within selected villages by sustainable forest management, livelihood improvement, and institutional strengthening thereby contributing to conservation of environment, biodiversity, and uplifting of socio- economic conditions of people in the State of Meghalaya.
Project activities being carried out by the PMC in providing managerial support towards monitoring the microplanning exercises going on in the field and also in uploading the data into the app besides providing guidance to members of NGOs in formatting the data collected for micro-plan. Necessary support to SPMU in monitoring the progress and actions related to Community Nurseries and Plantations both AR and ANR for project villages across Khasi, Garo and Jaintia Hills. It is a continuous process to providing relevant advice and guidance on the above to Project Associates, Field Coordinators, VPIC members, women members of SHG that are in charge of Community Nurseries and BPMs. Capacity building approaches and finalization of Trainings of all stakeholders finalized and submitted.
