NK-NKI is pleased to announce its contribution to an innovative urban mobility solution that has been selected as a winner of the Toyota Mobility Foundation Sustainable Cities Challenge in Varanasi, India.
The recognition follows an intensive 18-month journey involving solution development, pilot implementation, and evaluation. The winning solution was selected from a highly competitive field of approximately 90 global applicants and progressed through the semi-final and finalist stages before being recognized for its value and potential impact.
Developed in collaboration with Citydata Ai and local stakeholders, the solution uses advanced data analytics and digital technologies to support sustainable urban mobility planning. NK-NKI contributed technical expertise and analytics capabilities to support the development and implementation of the solution.
As part of the initiative, operational guidance and knowledge resources were also prepared to help city stakeholders effectively use the solution and derive practical insights for mobility improvement. The initiative has also received support from academic stakeholders in Varanasi, strengthening the foundation for future deployment and wider adoption.
This achievement reflects NK-NKI’s continued commitment to innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable urban development. By combining engineering knowledge, advanced analytics and stakeholder collaboration, NK-NKI remains focused on supporting smart, practical, and scalable solutions that improve mobility outcomes and contribute to future-ready cities.
The project team will continue to explore opportunities for broader deployment and commercialization, with a focus on supporting real-world implementation in Varanasi and creating long-term value for city stakeholders and citizens.
